Anna is an author, screenwriter, essayist and poet.
Her debut novel Immaculate (Allen and Unwin) - a magical realist exploration of grief and spiritual deconstruction- won the 2023 Australian/Vogel's Award and was shortlisted for the 2024 MUD Prize and 2024 Queensland Literary Award's 'Book of the Year'. Anna is now adapting the novel for the screen with Emmy-award winning Hoodlum Productions, with funding from Screen Queensland.
Anna's previous novel Metanoia - a feminist lens on spiritual conversion - was shortlisted for the international ECPA Award for Best Memoir/Biography.
Across her diverse life experiences, Anna's work prioritises a defiant female gaze to explore experiences of embodiment, single motherhood, queer sexuality, death/grief, and spirituality.
She has been published by The Griffith Review, The Guardian, Mamamia and others.
She lives in Magandjin (Brisbane), with her two young children.
